A letter to the Mayor,
Subject : A humble request to look at the issues of electric and power lines in my locality (KMC-31)
Dear Mayor Shah,
I would like to bring to your attention the issue of electric grid networks and their infrastructure in our locality. I am a resident of KMC Ward-31. There are a lot of infrastructural issues within my locality. Many of which can be changed by the cooperation of your office and our community. The issue I am talking about is one that most places in the city face, the infrastructure in our electric line network is exhausted and for the right reasons. Firstly, the old “poles” are on the brink of failure, their failure will inevitably cause huge losses and may result in accidents as well. And on the other hand, we already have the infrastructure to support and replace the old wooden ones that are crumbling. It might be considered a small issue, but I think of the times that every line of wire that was put on these poles could have been put on the new ones with just a little more effort, it's the lack of effort and it shows. I do not blame anyone for the situation because we as a people have a tendency to leave matters as it is and many issues continue on, but now is the time to move ahead and bring changes. Here I am putting in the effort from my side and I hope these photos that I have provided below will shed more light on the matter.
Regards,
Akash Thapa,
A Nepali Citizen.
